New communications chief at Woodland

Woodland Elementary District 50 in Gurnee has hired a spokeswoman to replace the departing Jennifer Tempest Bova. Carolyn Waller will start July 1 as Woodland's new communications manager. Waller has been a media specialist at the Lake County Health Department for the past five years. She previously was a spokeswoman at Warren Township High School District 121 in Gurnee and worked for the Daily Herald. Bova is moving on to a publicist job at Des Plaines Elementary District 62.
