Lake County fundraiser record

The Lake County Sheriff's Office reported that the 15th Annual Dunkin Donuts Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics, Illinois, raised a record amount. This year, deputies, reserve deputies, explorer post members and Special Olympics athletes were at two locations: 34484 Rout 45 in Third Lake and 707 Rockland Road in Lake Bluff. The combined total raised at both locations during the May 20 event was $6,352.50, which is 56 percent higher than the 2015 record of $4,069.72, officials reported.
