Good Ol' Summertime Festival to Celebrate Palatine's 150th
The Palatine Historical Society has planned a Good Ol' Summertime Festival in celebration of Palatine's Sesquicentennial anniversary. The event will be held on the grounds of Clayson House, 224 E. Palatine Road, Palatine, on Sunday, June 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free parking will be available on Oak Street, and the event will be held rain or shine.
This free celebration will offer a variety of activities for the entire family including the pioneer kids area with old-fashioned games, antique cars, a quilting demo, a blacksmithing demo, wedding dresses through the decades, basket making demo, Plein-air artists, self-guided garden tours, face painting, free refreshments, and a visit from Clayson the Palatine 150 mascot. Attendees will also be able to guess the function of historical items at the "What Is It?" table, and there will be historical information about the Palatine Police Department, the Palatine Fire Department, and the Palatine community. The Battlefield Balladeers will be performing from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and Taylor Battery will present civil war living history including the firing of a cannon every hour on the hour during the event.

The purpose of the Palatine Historical Society is to increase public knowledge of Palatine and Palatine Township and encourage people to visit the Clayson House Museum.
