Construction starts at Mitsubishi subsidiary's Elk Grove headquarters

Construction has begun on a $25 million, 175,000-square-foot corporate headquarters for MC Machinery Systems, a subsidiary of the Mitsubishi Corp., in Elk Grove Village, officials said Wednesday.

The company, which develops and sells high-tech manufacturing equipment used for metalworking and metal fabrication, plans to relocate from Wood Dale to an 11-acre site it purchased at 101 Northwest Point Blvd.

The new building will have 50,000 square feet of office space spread across two stories, 75,000 square feet of ancillary office and storage areas and a 50,000-square-foot showroom to display equipment, according to a news release from The Opus Group, the builder.

Construction is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
