Motorcyclist critically injured in Wadsworth crash

A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash Monday in Wadsworth at North Delany and Wadsworth roads, police said.

At about noon, a 2005 Toyota Corolla traveling southbound on Delany Road collided with a 2014 Harley-Davidson that was traveling westbound on Wadsworth Road, Lake County sheriff's police said in a news release.

Police believe the driver of the motorcycle disobeyed a red traffic light and struck the Toyota in the intersection, ejecting the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center with critical injuries, police said.

The driver of the Toyota was taken to Vista East Hospital with injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
