Mariano's brass to talk to Des Plaines residents Thursday

Officials from the Mariano's grocery store under construction in Des Plaines will talk about the project Thursday night at Alderman Dick Sayad's 4th Ward meeting.

They joined city and park district officials at a ceremonial groundbreaking last month for the start of construction of the store on the northeast corner of Golf and Mount Prospect roads. The store's opening is planned for the first quarter of 2017.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, at Golf Road Baptist Church, 501 W. Golf Road.

Other speakers will include city Finance Director Dorothy Wisniewski, Engineering/Public Works Director Tim Oakley, Park District Executive Director Don Miletic, and representatives from the Citizens Utility Board, Illinois secretary of state's office, and Illinois attorney general's office.
