Crew, Toronto FC play to 0-0 tie

TORONTO (AP) - Toronto FC goalkeeper Clint Irwin had his fifth shutout of the season Saturday night in a 0-0 draw with the Columbus Crew.

Toronto dropped to 4-4-4 with its second straight tie. The Crew (2-4-5) are winless in their last four games.

Steve Clark had his third clean sheet of the season for Columbus.

Sebastian Giovinco had Toronto's best opportunity to break the scoreless draw in the 68th minute, but he uncharacteristically shot it wide in a 1-on-1 situation with Clark. Mo Babouli provided the brilliant through ball for the Italian star, but Giovinco failed to score what would have been an MLS-leading ninth goal of the season.
