Softball: Antioch rolls past LZ

Ashley Stephens and Jacklyn Geraty both went 3-for-4, and Antioch's softball team pounded out 19 hits in a 14-2 win over host Lake Zurich in a North Suburban Conference crossover on Thursday.

Geraty had a double and 4 RBI. Antioch (23-11) received 2 hits apiece from Carlie Gaylord, Annie Wagner (RBI), Deighton Butenschoen (double, RBI), Katie Sorenson (2 RBI) and Megan Lawrence (double, RBI).

Winning-pitcher Stephanie Bonaguidi allowed 2 runs in her 4 innings, striking out five.

Grayslake Central 1, Cary-Grove 0: Reagen Radke pitched a 4-hit shutout, striking out 11 and not walking a batter, as the visiting Rams won in Fox Valley Conference action.

Nicole Warren scored the game's only run in the top of the third inning. Warren, Teagan Truskowski, Brooke Heraty, Kaci Snyder and Warren had Grayslake Central's hits.

Crystal Lake South 12, Grayslake North 4: Grace Brown and Jessica Vaughn were both 2-for-4 for the Knights in the Fox Valley Conference loss.

Molly Rutkowski and Rebecca Sosa collected the other hits for Grayslake North. Jenna Pozezinski contributed an RBI.

Warren 18, Lake Zurich 0: On Tuesday, Nicole Somppi homered, singled and drove in 4 runs, and Hannah Nommensen pitched a 1-hitter with 13 strikeouts, as the visiting Blue Devils completed North Suburban Lake Division action with a six-inning win.

Warren finished 10-2 in the NSC Lake, alone in second place, one game behind Libertyville. Kelly Beck was 3-for-3 with 2 RBI for the Blue Devils, who scored 10 runs in the sixth. Warren also received 2 hits apiece from Crystal Pennell (double), Caitlyn Britton (2 RBI) and Devon Plata. Kayla Nommensen added a solo home run.

Jessica Puccinelli had the lone hit for Lake Zurich, which finished 5-7 in the NSC Lake.
