Baseball: Wauconda finishes 12-0 in Prairie
Wauconda's baseball team completed an unbeaten run through the North Suburban Prairie by claiming a 5-4 victory over Antioch on Tuesday.
Wauconda (23-4, 12-0) got a double and 2 RBI from Parker Fink, while Trevor Sefcik, Jake Grobelny and Greg Lepage each produced 2 hits.
Antioch tied the game by scoring twice in the top of the seventh before the Bulldogs pushed across a single run in the bottom of the seventh.
Vernon Hills 15, Round Lake 1 (5 inn.): Connor McNamara was a winner is his first start of the season, coming up with a complete-game 3-hitter with 7 strikeouts and 3 walks in North Suburban Prairie action.
Among the offensive standouts for the Cougars were Adam Gates, who drove in 2 runs with a line-drive single, and multiple hitters Tommy Earhart and Tony Brown.
Warren 13, Mundelein 4: Jordan Litke hit a home run to lead Warren to the big win.
The Blue Devils improve to 24-8 on the season.
Carmel 5, McHenry 0: Cooper Johnson had 2 hits, both doubles, to lead Carmel to the win.
Eddie Pietschmann also had 2 hits while winning pitcher Nick Cosentino gave up just 3 walks and 3 hits.
Grayslake North 4, Grayslake Central 3: Bobby Krebs had a double and drove in 2 runs for Grayslake North.
Winning pitcher Pat Schaefer went the distance and rolled up 5 strikeouts and did not allow a walk.
Grayslake Central, which had 4 errors, got 2 hits, including a double, out of Ben Fitzgerald.
