Shots fired early Sunday in Des Plaines
Witnesses reported hearing a number of gunshots early Sunday morning in a residential neighborhood on Des Plaines' south side, police said.
According to a police report, one witness said he saw a small white car sitting in the middle of Orchard Street near Riverview Avenue at 2:24 a.m., then heard two gunshots. He said he then saw the white car followed by a dark-colored SUV stop at Orchard and Everett Avenue, then heard eight to 10 more gunshots. Both vehicles fled eastbound on Everett, police said.
Another witnesses reported hearing three gunshots, a pause, and then heard three to four more gunshots. She said she observed a white SUV and a red SUV driving eastbound on Everett.
