Apple Inc., up $3.36 to $93.88
Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway disclosed it bought about $1.1 billion in Apple stock, which is trading near two-year lows.
Anacor Pharmaceuticals Inc., up $36.64 to $100.67
Pfizer agreed to buy the maker of skin-disorder treatments for $99.25 per share, or $5.2 billion.
Tribune Publishing Co., up $2.61 to $14.08
USA Today publisher Gannett raised its offer for the owner of newspapers including the Los Angeles Times to $15 per share.
Memorial Resource Development Corp., up 41 cents to $13.86
Range Resources agreed to buy the natural gas company for $3.3 billion, or $15.75 per share.
Terex Corp., up $2.26 to $24.94
The machinery maker canceled a merger with Finland's Konecranes, but sold its cranes business for $1.3 billion in cash and stock.
Marathon Oil Corp., up 53 cents to $17.78
Energy companies and oil prices jumped after Goldman Sachs said it thinks the global oil glut is over.
McKesson Corp., up $6.60 to $172.53
