Girls track and field: Three advance to state for Wauconda
At Huntley: On Thursday night, Wauconda advanced three girls to state out of the Class 3A sectional.
Freshman Grace Daun won the high jump, clearing 5 feet 7. Seniors Corrina Vaughan and Alison Beeman earned state berths for the second year in a row. Vaughan advanced in the shot put (38-5.5, fourth), while Beeman made it through in the 100-meter dash (12.44, second).
Wauconda (25 points) finished 11th in the team standings. DeKalb won the sectional with 87 points.
