Grant 3, McHenry 2: At McHenry, in a play-in game in the Class 3A Cary-Grove regional, the ninth-seeded Bulldogs prevailed 3-2 over the No.-9 seed in penalty kicks.

Grant will play No. 2 Crystal Lake South at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the regional semifinals.

McHenry led 1-0 at halftime, but Grant got second-half goals from Kelli Varney and Riley Riggs. Grace Bujin and Rachel Ramirez had assists for the Bulldogs, and keeper Lexi Werve made 8 saves.
