Kernels' LeBlanc shuts down Kane County Cougars

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA. - Facing one of the Midwest League's best pitchers, the Kane County Cougars fell victim to a complete-game shutout by Cedar Rapids starter Randy LeBlanc as the Kernels rolled to a 9-0 win Wednesday afternoon.

LeBlanc (4-2) took a no-hitter to the fifth inning for the Kernels (18-14), striking out 6 to tie the season series between the clubs at 3-3. The loss drops the Cougars to 17-15 on the season.

Cougars starting pitcher Tyler Mark, making his first appearance since last fall, lasted just two innings as he gave up 7 hits and 5 runs. Offensively, the Cougars were held to just 3 hits.
