CMT network turning Jason Aldean's Chicago concert into TV show

NEW YORK - The CMT network is launching a summertime concert event that it hopes will become an annual tradition, with the first year's featured artist being Jason Aldean.

CMT is filming an Aldean concert taking place at a festival in Chicago on June 19, and will turn it into a two-hour television show. Besides the performance, CMT will weave in backstage interviews and behind-the scenes moments.

However, the network wasn't saying Wednesday when its "Concert of the Summer" will be televised.

Besides Aldean, CMT said the concert special will also feature Thomas Rhett and A Thousand Horses.
