Route 176/Route 60/83 Mundelein road project picks up steam

The $4 million roadwork project on Route 176 and Route 60/83 is kicking into high gear in Mundelein.

Drivers need to be patient in the town as the Hawley Road widening project is also in progress.

The Route 176 at Route 60/83 project includes: the addition of left-turn lanes in both directions; a continuous right-turn lane along Route 60/83 from Route 176 to Route 83; travel lane alignment improvements; drainage enhancements; new traffic signals; a new asphalt pavement surface and markings; an additional lane southbound on Route 60 from the village limit to Schank Road; and, minor pavement widening on Route 176 from Del Webb Boulevard to Schank Road.

Motorists can expect daily lane closures during in the construction zone.
