Lake Zurich hires new community development boss

Elgin senior planner Sarosh Saher has been hired as Lake Zurich's community development director. Village officials said Saher will begin in Lake Zurich on June 20. Saher, who's worked in Elgin since 2008, has about 20 years of progressive experience in areas that will directly assist Lake Zurich community in advancing its five-year strategic plan, village officials said. "We are fortunate to have landed Sarosh as our new community development director," Mayor Thomas Poynton said. "He was offered the position due to his independent decision-making ability, innovative solutions to challenges and collaborative approach to producing real results." Saher will replace Sam Hubbard, who departed Lake Zurich for an administrative post with the village of Arlington Heights.
