Rosemont reopens iconic waterfall after $1.9 million facelift
Rosemont's iconic waterfall at the corner of River Road and Higgins Road officially reopened yesterday after being closed for 18 months to undergo $1.9 million in renovations. Former Wheeling Twp. supervisor, Arlington Hts. mayor dies at 61
A lifelong Arlington Heights resident and a longtime elected official, Dr. Michael Schroeder was best known for his dedication to the community and his strong religious faith. Schroeder, a former Wheeling Township supervisor and Arlington Heights village president, died yesterday morning after battling metastatic cancer. He was 61. Six vehicles crash on I-90
Eight people were hospitalized with minor injuries yesterday after a six-vehicle crash involving a semitrailer truck on the Jane Addams Tollway (Interstate 90) in Schaumburg, according to Illinois State Police. The crash occurred about 3:10 p.m. east of Roselle Road when the driver of a semitrailer truck failed to slow down and hit five other vehicles that were reducing speed in traffic, police said. Aurora firefighter dies unexpectedly
Aurora firefighter and paramedic Michael Adamovich, 38, a six-year veteran of the fire department, died overnight in his Yorkville home, city officials said yesterday. His cause of death is unknown. Cubs complete 'crazy' sweep with 13-inning win
In a game the Cubs had no business winning in a lot of ways, they somehow pulled out a 4-3, 13-inning victory at Wrigley Field yesterday to complete a four-game sweep of the Washington Nationals and extend their overall winning streak to seven games.
