In Buffalo Grove sectional play Monday, Libertyville's boys water polo team advanced with an 18-6 victory over Deerfield.
The seventh-seeded Wildcats (10-16) will meet No. 2 seed Mundelein in a 7 p.m. quarterfinal matchup Wednedsay at Buffalo Grove.
• Buffalo Grove earned a spot in the quarterfinals by topping Highland Park 12-4 behind 2 goals from Ryan Lawson, Billy Wade and Kacper Aniecko. The sixth-seeded Bison (17-14) next fact No. 3 Wheeling at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Other games Wednesday at Buffalo Grove are No. 1 seed Stevenson vs. No. 8 Lake Forest at 5 p.m. and No. 4 McHenry vs. No. 5 Palatine at 6 p.m.
