East Dundee celebrates moms, renovations to Depot
Families in East Dundee celebrated Mother's Day with a twist Sunday, as the village hosted the first day of the season for its Sunday Farmer's Market, an open house at the newly renovated Depot, and grand openings for a pair of new businesses.
The Depot, located in the heart of the village's downtown and just blocks from the Fox River, and its surrounding grounds host weekly summer special events and markets. The interior of the building, which houses the village's marketing and events staff and Dundee Visitors Center, recently received a facelift that reflects its train station roots.
Located on the Depot grounds, the Farmer's Market opened Sunday with fresh produce, flowers, organic eggs and bakery products. I will take place every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Sept. 25.
The village also welcomed two news business: Midwest Retro on Barrington Avenue, featuring all things repurposed, and Uncommon Palate on River Street, featuring upscale wines, cheeses and boutique gifts.
