5 arrested in prostitution sting operation in Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - Terre Haute police have arrested five people in a suspected prostitution ring that involved a 17-year-old girl.

The Terre Haute Tribune Star reports (http://bit.ly/1UIvW9C ) that the arrests are a result of a sting operation executed Friday night. Police say they used a decoy to arrange a meeting at a Terre Haute hotel.

Alysia Palacios faces charges of prostitution and possession of a stun gun without a handgun permit. Kayle Young faces a prostitution charge and two charges of failure to appear in court. Deanna Welcher faces a prostitution charge.

Chavala Wilson and Anthony Irons were arrested on charges of promotion of human/sexual trafficking. Irons also faces a cocaine possession charge.

The unidentified girl has been placed in the care of Child Protection Services.
