Lake County rain barrel sale May 7

The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, Stormwater Management Commission and Lake County Forest Preserves will hold their annual rain barrel and compost bin sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the North Bay Pavilion of Independence Grove Forest Preserve near Libertyville.

Visitors can learn about the benefits of composting and harvesting rain water, watch demonstrations, and meet with experts to answer questions.

A native plant sale also will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 7 and 8. Visitors can learn the value of planting native species and find a variety of flowers, plants, shrubs and trees.
