Clinton blasts Pence, new abortion law in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Hillary Clinton is taking aim at Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and the GOP-dominated Legislature while alluding to the state's recent abortion restrictions law.

The Democratic presidential candidate said during an Indianapolis rally Sunday that she will "defend a woman's right to make her own health care decisions" while supporting those who are "standing up against this governor and this Legislature."

Clinton was referring to a recent law signed by the Republican governor banning abortions sought for genetic defects that could threaten the life of a mother or child brought to term.

The law's approval drew national scrutiny. Critics include doctors' organizations who say it will interfere with serious health decisions made by a woman and her physician.

Clinton also said she will defend the group Planned Parenthood.
