Ivy Hill School in Arlington Heights turns 50

Ivy Hill Elementary School in Arlington Heights celebrated its 50th anniversary on Friday evening with an open house for current and former students, staff and parents.

Visitors enjoyed seeing how education at Ivy Hill has changed since 1966, toured the school and saw student artwork on display.

"Our school's motto for the celebration is 'celebrating our past and inspiring our future,'" said Ivy Hill Principal Scott Kaese.

Ivy Hill is in the midst of a construction project that is adding 10 classrooms and an expanded gymnasium. The work is expected to be finished when school starts in the fall.

"Celebrations like this highlight the pride and joy of being an Ivy Hill Eagle," Kaese said.
