Arlington Heights bank robbed
Arlington Heights police confirmed Friday that a robber took an undisclosed amount of cash Thursday from the Ben Franklin Bank on the 800 block of East Kensington Road.
Sgt. Charles Buczynski said that around 3:15 p.m. Thursday, the man walked in and presented a teller with a note saying he had a weapon and wanted the money out of the back.
After receiving the money, the man fled on foot. No weapon was displayed, Buczynski said.
The bank robber was described as a white man, possibly in his 50s, wearing a dark-colored jacket with a hood, sunglasses and khaki pants.
Arlington Heights police have turned the investigation over to the FBI.
