Business Wire

NORTHBROOK - In a move to expand its presence as a leading solutions provider in the financial technology space, Digital Check Corp. has created a new executive management position to help the company explore and develop opportunities in digital payments and image processing.

Longtime executive vice president John Gainer has been appointed to director of corporate strategy, which provides guidance to the organization on diversification and planning for the company. The new position reports directly to Digital Check president & CEO Thomas P. Anderson. Jeff Hempker, formerly senior vice president for North America sales and marketing, has been promoted to fill Gainer's responsibilities as executive vice president.

The changes will play an important part in the company's ongoing evolution into the digital payments age, says Anderson.

"As we continue the progression from a hardware manufacturer, into an integrated provider of hardware and software image processing tools, our new leadership structure will help guide Digital Check forward. John's more than 35 years of experience, combined with our history of innovation in high-tech optics and imaging, puts us in great position for long-term success. At the same time, we're eager to create opportunities for a new generation of leadership to thrive as the company expands its horizons."

The new positions and titles, among others to be announced soon, are effective as of the first quarter of 2016 and they position the company as it plans for future growth.
