Special ed teacher joins administration at Woodlawn Middle School

Meghan Kennedy, a special-education teacher at Country Meadows School in Long Grove, will become the assistant principal of Woodlawn Middle School in Long Grove on Aug. 1. Kennedy has been teaching in Kildeer-Countryside Elementary District 96 since 2010. In 2013 she was nominated by her colleagues for the Those Who Excel award, and after school she works with Girls On the Run, focusing on exercise, healthful lifestyle choices and emotional well-being for girls. She has a master's degree in principal preparation and teacher leadership from Concordia University. Kennedy will succeed Vail Kieser, who will take over as principal of Kildeer Countryside Elementary School, also in August.
