Bayern's Sammer out with blood circulation problem in brain
MUNICH (AP) - Bayern Munich says sporting director Matthias Sammer was unable to sit on the club's bench for the last two games due to a blood circulation problem in his brain.
Club doctor Roland Schmidt is quoted as saying in a statement that Sammer had a "''tiny circulatory disorder of the brain that will heal completely and without consequence."
Bayern says Sammer is well again and he is quoted as saying: "There are no restrictions for me and the doctors have assured (me) that I will recover completely. But I will take the necessary time to get convalesce so I can be fully there for the team and Bayern again."
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says "the most important thing now is that Matthias Sammer is fully recovered."
