How did lobbyists get state pensions?
I did not know that lobbyists receive a taxpayer-funded pension to promote private interests. Well, shame on me, but I bet that many other Illinois residents are unaware of this also. What a sweet deal!
Finally as stated in Mike Riopell's story, the state legislature is in the process of enacting remedial legislation resulting from Rep. Marty Moylan's efforts.
Question for the Illinois legislators: Why, how and who permitted a lobbyist to collect a state pension in the first place? You guys in the state senate better get this corrected quickly.
Remember, the state's broke.
