Baseball: Stevenson rolls past Rolling Meadows

Jack Cappalli, Charlie Ling, Henry Marchese and Dylan Molek each had 2 hits, and Stevenson's baseball team captured an 11-1 win over Rolling Meadows in five innings on Thursday.

Cappalli, Ling and Molek all had doubles. Cappalli, Molek, Pat Loeffler and Hayden Shape each knocked in a pair of runs.

Mundelein 4, Solorio 0: Winning-pitcher Johnny Buckner and Jeff Morton combined on a no-hitter in the nonconference game.

Buckner pitched 6 innings, striking out seven. Brett Parola went 2-for-3 with a double, and Nick Stricker doubled as well, as Mundelein improved to 12-6.

Vernon Hills 8, Grant 7 (8 inn.): Tommy Earhart singled in Joe Rangel in the bottom of the eighth inning, lifting the Cougars to victory in a North Suburban Prairie game that was suspended due to darkness after seven innings on April 13.

Earhart, who retired the side in the top of the eighth, earned the win, as Vernon Hills improved to 3-3 in the division.

In the bottom of the eighth, Rangel singled and Drew Winegarder walked. After an out, Earhart delivered with a full-count single to right to score Rangel, who barely beat the throw home to score the winning run.

Grant fell to 3-3 in the NSC Prairie.

Antioch 10, Crystal Lake Central 0: The Sequoits won the nonconference game in five innings, scoring 4 runs in the second and six in the fourth.

An RBI single by Connor Geidner, a two-run single by Ben Gutke and a two-run single by John Neville highlighted the fourth-inning outburst. Jake Emer had a two-run single, and Alex Unekis hit a solo home run in the second for Antioch. Unekis also singled. Dylan Rathbun pitched all 5 innings for the Sequoits, allowing just 2 hits.

Warren 5, Brooks College Prep 2: Jordan Litke was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the host Blue Devils in the nonconference game.

Zion-Benton 2, Grayslake Central 1: Coby Moe suffered the tough-luck loss, allowing no earned runs while striking out four and walking none in 5⅔ innings.

Benton Troehler was 2-for-3 for Grayslake Central, and Ben Fitzgerald doubled.
