INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Donald Trump's campaign speech in Indianapolis jabbed at Carrier Corp.'s decision to close a 1,400-worker factory in the city and move production to Mexico.
The thousands of supporters at the Indiana State Fairgrounds cheered Wednesday when Trump said he would impose stiff taxes on companies taking jobs from the country and that Carrier's move wouldn't happen if he was president.
Trump said his New York primary victory Tuesday over John Kasich and Ted Cruz is "a great feeling."
Trump supporters and about 100 protesters exchanged shouts after the rally, but there wasn't any violence.
Fifty-six-year-old Paul Milford of Marion says Trump will help bring jobs to his hometown that's lost many auto industry jobs over the last couple decades. He says he'll put Trump campaign signs on Marion's vacant buildings.
