Christie joins Trump for private meeting with Pence

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie joined Donald Trump for the Republican presidential frontrunner's visit with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.

Trump and Christie arrived Wednesday afternoon at the Governor's Residence in Indianapolis ahead of a Trump campaign rally at the nearby Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Pence's office says Trump requested the private meeting with the Republican governor, who hasn't endorsed a presidential candidate ahead of Indiana's May 3 primary.

Christie last appeared with Trump on the trail in March. Christie said earlier this week if Trump asked for his help and he was able to go, he would.

Pence will share a stage with another GOP presidential candidate on Thursday as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is set as one of the speakers at an Indiana Republican Party fundraising dinner.
