Gin Blossoms, Tonic playing July 4 at Naperville's Ribfest

Before a fireworks show set to music, Gin Blossoms, Tonic and Tres Moustache each will take the stage Monday, July 4, at Ribfest in Naperville.

Known for songs like "Hey Jealousy," "Follow You Down" and "Until I Fall Away," Gin Blossoms gained fame for its "jangle pop" sound in the 1990s. The band's show in Naperville follows suburban performances in recent years in Lisle, Arlington Heights, Highland Park and Rosemont. Gin Blossoms will kick off the day playing at 4 p.m. at Knoch Park near downtown Naperville.

Tonic, formed in 1993, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its 1996 album "Lemon Parade," which reached platinum status with the single "If You Could Only See." The band's show is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Gin Blossoms and Tonic will be followed by Tres Moustache, a rock cover band that frequents West suburban venues such as Quigley's Irish Pub in Naperville.

Shortly before the 9 p.m. fireworks show synchronized to music on KHITS 104.3-FM, Ribfest organizers with the Exchange Club of Naperville open the festival grounds for free admission.

Tickets to musical performances generally run from $20 to $125 at Ribfest.net.

Other performers during the 29th annual four-day festival include 3 Doors Down on Friday, July 1, Sister Hazel on Saturday, July 2, and Nashville-based country artist Lee Brice on Sunday, July 3.
