Girls soccer: Elgin shuts out Hampshire

Chasya Avendano scored in the first half off an assist from Yulissa Gutierrez and Melissa Galarza scored off a feed from Makenna Downing in the second half to lead Elgin's girls soccer team (4-7) to a 2-0 nonconference win over Hampshire Wednesday.
