Baseball: Elk Grove wins completion of game against Buffalo Grove
Elk Grove's Chuck Fleming hit into a run-scoring fielder's choice to give the host Grens a 5-4 victory over Buffalo Grove on Tuesday in the completion of a Mid-Suburban League game that had been tied at 4-4 after 9 innings last Wednesday.
Christian Camacho tossed a scoreless top half of the 10th inning to get the win for Elk Grove (7-5, 3-1).
Buffalo Grove (7-6, 3-1) suffered its first loss to a Mid-Suburban League foe and is tied with Elk Grove for the East Division lead.
Maine West 8, Maine East 2: The visiting Warriors earned a third straight win as Dan Johnston allowed 2 earned runs over 6 inning and Terry Hadfield tossed a scoreless inning in relief.
Nick Stone had a hit, 2 walks and 3 RBI for Maine West (6-7), and Alex Zimmerman doubled and walked twice.
Matt Johnston had a hit, 2 walks and stole 2 bases for the Warriors.
