ACC hires Bryan Kersey as coordinator of hoops officials

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - The Atlantic Coast Conference has hired veteran official Bryan Kersey as its coordinator of men's basketball officiating.

The league announced Kersey's hiring Tuesday. He replaces John Clougherty, who is retiring after 11 years.

Kersey has been an official in Division I for 30 years with 27 of those coming in the ACC and has regularly worked both the ACC and NCAA tournaments. The son of longtime NBA official Jess Kersey, he's called six regionals, three regional finals and the 2015 Final Four.

Commissioner John Swofford says Kersey "brings a wealth of on-court experience" to the position.
