Aston Villa relegated after loss against Man United

MANCHESTER, England (AP) - Aston Villa was relegated for the first time since 1987 after a 1-0 loss against Manchester United on Saturday in the English Premier League.
The only goal came in the 32nd minute with Marcus Rashford slotting home from Antonio Valencia's cross.
Although the Midlands club has been effectively relegated for some time, the result finally ends Villa's ever-present status in the Premier League since its inception in 1992. Villa has now lost nine games in a row, and a highly uninspiring performance against Man United typified the disappointing performances that have wrecked its season.
Manchester United remains fifth, provisionally one point behind rival Manchester City, which plays Chelsea later.
