Teen charged with shooting Chicago officer with pellet gun

CHICAGO (AP) - A 16-year-old boy has been charged with shooting a Chicago police officer with a pellet gun.

Police say the officer was hospitalized with a non-life threatening injury. The shooting took place around 10:30 p.m. Friday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

The teen was charged with a felony count of aggravated battery and a misdemeanor count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
