Vets group hosting Earth Day event

A Grayslake-based veterans group plans an Earth Day cleanup and free barbecue Saturday, April 23. Organized by the Lake County Veterans and Family Services Foundation, volunteers are asked to gather at 9:15 a.m. at the organization's Dryhootch Drop‐in Center, 100 S. Atkinson Road in Grayslake. Participants will work at nearby Rollins Savanna, 20160 W. Washington St., just outside Grayslake, from 10 a.m. to noon. The free barbecue will be at the Dryhootch Drop‐in Center after the cleanup.
