Palatine, DEA to host medicine drop-off
The Palatine Police Department, in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public its 11th opportunity in six years to drop off unwanted expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs later this month.
According to a Palatine Police news release, medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse.
The drop-off will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at the Palatine police station, located at 595 N. Hicks Road. All medication should be sealed in clear plastic bags. Syringes must be capped and packaged separately from medication and liquids will not be accepted.
