Man, 72, dies in one-car crash in Campton Hills
A 72-year-old Carpentersville man died after a single-vehicle crash Thursday night in Campton Hills, police said.
Stephen Bushy died after his car left the road at about 8:54 p.m., hit a sign and a tree and wound up in a ditch while he was traveling west on Silver Glen Road near Brierwood Drive, according to a Campton Hills police news release.
Bushy was unconscious when authorities arrived at the scene and was taken to Delnor Hospital in Geneva where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Police said injuries from the crash did not appear to kill Bushy, and his family told authorities he recently had medical issues that could have factored in the crash. Members of Bushy's family were following his car and witnessed the crash.
