Metropolis to celebrate annual gala fundraiser

Join for Metropolis' signature fundraising event held at Rolling Green Country Club.

The evening features dinner, open bar, live and silent auctions and entertainment by the School of the Performing Arts students and faculty, a preview of the upcoming 2016-2017 season and guest DJ.

Proceeds will benefit Metropolis' theatrical and arts education programs.

Enter the Special Raffle for a chance to win one of the following: $2,500; a trip for two to Las Vega; or a trip for two to Monterrey Bay, California, for a Pebble Beach golf experience. Raffle tickets are $100. Winner does not need to be present to win and only 200 raffle tickets will be sold.

This year's silent auction will feature mobile bidding by Gesture. You can bid from anywhere on your phone or computer. Mobile bidding registration begins the week of April 25; visit MPAC2016.gesture.com.

Metropolis is proud to present Celebrity Auctioneer and Emcee Angela Ingersoll. Angela and husband, Michael Ingersoll, (PBS's Under the Streetlamp and Jersey Boys) coproduce the Artists Lounge Live concert series, which found its inception at Metropolis.

Angela's concerts include "My Baby Just Cares for Me," and her holiday romp, "The 12 Dames of Christmas." She will return to Metropolis this season with a tribute to Judy Garland.

Metropolis' Gala is from 5:30-11 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Rolling Green Country Club, 2525 W. Rand Road. in Arlington Heights.

Ticket sales alone do not cover the costs of operating a thriving performing arts center. Metropolis special events, like the gala, raise funds to help keep ticket prices affordable and tuition costs low in the performing arts school, and also supports Metropolis' Outreach programs that have brought the arts to the lives of more than 17,000 children and those with special needs in 100 different organizations across the Chicago area.

Metropolis is in Arlington Heights at the intersection of Campbell and Vail Avenue. Street parking is available and free parking is available in the public garage behind the theater.
