Softball: Geneva, St. Charles North pick up wins

Molly Wrenn was 2-for-3 with a grand slam and 5 RBI for Geneva in a 7-5 win over South Elgin on Tuesday.

Katie Keller went 3-for-4, and Annika Radabaugh doubled twice. Alissa Dierks picked up the win to improve to 2-0, and Emily Plocinski recorded the save.

Amber Derr and Stacy Bellack had 2 hits for South Elgin, and Hannah Gordon doubled.

St. Charles North 13, Glenbard East 5: Alyssa Eby, Sam Hausl, Allison Moberg and Jillian Waslawski all had 2 hits for St. Charles North in a win over Glenbard East on Tuesday.

Hausl and Waslawski each drove in 3 runs, and Eby and Allison Hausl had 2 RBI. Amanda James and Sam Hausl both scored 3 runs.

Waslawski earned the win, striking out 7, walking 2 and allowing 5 runs, 3 earned, in the complete game.

Batavia 14, West Chicago 0: Kaylan Waldron tossed a 5-inning no-hitter, striking out 4 and walking 1 as the Bulldogs scored 8 runs in the first inning and didn't look back in the Upstate Eight Conference matchup.

Toni Galas (3-for-4, 2 doubles, 3 RBI), Olivia Bumbar (2-for-4), Breiann Cruz (2-for-3, 4 RBI, home run) Kaylan Waldron (3-for-3, 2 runs), Lauren Wencewicz (1-for-2, 2 RBI, 2 runs) and Jessica Kleist (2-for-3, 2 runs) were among the Bulldogs with big days at the plate.

Aurora Central Catholic 9, ICCP 8: The Chargers led 6-0 after 5 innings and then held on as IC Catholic Prep scored 5 times in the sixth and 3 times in the seventh.

Dani Brown pitched a complete game with 11 strikeouts. She also doubled, tripled and drove in 4 runs.

Paige Miller went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI, Bridget Butler had 3 hits and Val Litrenta 2.

St. Francis 6, Rosary 4: The Spartans rallied from a 4-2 deficit with 4 runs in the bottom of the fifth led by Carlee Jo Clark's 3-hit, 3-RBI game.

Sarah Willman hit a home run for Rosary and drove in 2 runs. Kaleigh Lentz had 2 hits including a double and an RBI.

Yorkville 6, Kaneland 5: The Knights held leads of 2-0 and 5-3 but couldn't hold on.

Hannah Theobald (1-for-3, RBI), Meg Cohrs (2-for-3, 2 runs) and Morgan Weber (1-for-3, 2 runs) were Kaneland's offensive leaders.
