Traffic slowdowns expected on I-74 southeast of Indianapolis
WALDRON, Ind. (AP) - Drivers on Interstate 74 southeast of Indianapolis are likely to encounter traffic slowdowns and stoppages because of repairs to a bridge.
The Indiana Department of Transportation says HIS Constructors plans work on the bridge in Shelby County starting at 11 a.m. Wednesday and continuing throughout daylight hours. It says the work will require temporary slowdowns or stoppages in both eastbound and westbound lanes lasting about 20 minutes each time. The work zone is two miles east of State Road 244 and near the town of Waldron.
The work involves repairing or replacing concrete bridge components, rebuilding pavement approaches to the bridge and applying a protective surface to the existing concrete deck pavement.
