Sheriff: Southwestern Indiana man dead, tree fell on him
FARMERSBURG, Ind. (AP) - A southwestern Indiana sheriff says a man has died after a tree he was cutting down fell on him.
Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom says the 51-year-old Farmersburg man was cutting the wind-damaged tree in his backyard when it fell Tuesday.
The man's name wasn't immediately released.
Cottom says the man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sullivan County coroner.
Farmersburg is about 15 miles south of Terre Haute.
