Manage Your Diabetes

The Barrington Area Council on Aging will host "Take Charge of Your Diabetes," at the BACOA offices, 6000 Garlands Lane, Suite 100, Barrington, Wednesdays beginning on May 11 through June 15 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

"Take Charge of Your Diabetes" is a six-week, interactive program that will provide support for those living with diabetes. Participants will learn how to make healthier lifestyle choices to improve their condition.

This course is supported by Age Options, which is a regional arm of the Illinois Department on Aging, along with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Cook County Department of Public Health.

Diabetes is a long-term illness that causes high-blood sugar levels and must be managed to reduce other health risks including heart disease, kidney problems and eye disease.
