Aurora church to host 'Recipe Day Extravaganza' April 10
A "Recipe Day Extravaganza," spotlighting healthy nutrition, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, April 10, at Fourth Street United Methodist Church, 551 S. Fourth St. in Aurora. The public is invited. Admission is free.
Nathan Thompson, chiropractor and owner of Thompson Chiropractic Clinic in Yorkville, will discuss healthy nutrition and distribute recipes at a potluck luncheon to follow the 10 a.m. service.
Topics to be covered include shopping for healthy foods, fast and easy preparation of healthy meals and fitting healthy nutrition into busy lives.
Audience members are invited to bring their favorite recipes to share. Beverages and table service will be provided.
Dr. Thompson is a 1999 graduate of Elmhurst College where he completed his degree in sportsmedicine and athletic training with highest honors. He is a 2003 graduate of the Palmer College of Chiropractic where he earned the President's Scholar for academic excellence.
During his education at Palmer, Dr. Thompson provided care to people in Vietnam through the Clinic Abroad program.
Since 2004, Dr. Thompson has served Yorkville and the surrounding communities. He is a member of Maximized Living's Wellness Advisory Council, which provides chiropractic, nutritional and performance coaching to USA Wrestling, USA Judo, USA Weightlifting, and Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids. Thompson and his wife, Barbara, jointly own and operate CrossFit Exemplify, one of the largest CrossFit facilities in the Midwest.
