Ex-deputy town marshal enters plea in case involving child

COLUMBUS, Ind. (AP) - A former deputy town marshal in southern Indiana has pleaded guilty to felony attempted dissemination of material harmful to minors.

Lyn Nunemaker of Columbus entered the plea Monday in Bartholomew Circuit Court.

The (Columbus) Republic reports (http://bit.ly/1YbjPjZ ) court records say the former deputy town marshal in Hartsville was arrested in July and accused of text-messaging sexually explicit material to a 12-year-old girl. Hartsville is about 45 miles southeast of Indianapolis.

Court documents state that if the 51-year-old Nunemaker successfully completes all of the conditions of the plea agreement, a felony child solicitation charge could be dropped and the attempted dissemination of material charge could be lowered to a misdemeanor conviction.

Nunemaker's sentencing has been set for May 12.
