Army Interactive Semi display in Naperville

NAPERVILLE - The U.S. Army Recruiting Command's Army Adventure Semi will be in Naperville Thursday for a day of interactive fun and education.

The Army Adventure Semi will be parked at the top of Rotary Hill on Aurora Avenue, across the street from Naperville Central High School and will provide interactive educational exhibits and simulations, Active duty Army personnel will be on site to answer questions or concerns the public may have.

The Army Adventure Semi is one of four that travel the country as part of the Army's Accessions Support Brigade. The brigade initially began in 1936 when the Army tasked a small group of soldiers to man an exhibit at the World's Fair in New York City. Since then, the ASB has evolved into a full-fledged operation whose mission is to conduct professional mobile and fixed exhibits, provide multimedia and graphics support, and produce marketing and incentive products to provide quality leads to the U.S. Army accessions effort, enhance public awareness, and connect America's people with the America's Army.

Last year alone, the ASB traveled over 635,000 miles and were host to over 270,000 visitors.

The U.S. Army is a continued sponsor of the Naperville Jaycees Last Fling Labor Day Festival and hosts the Army Fun Zone in Family Fun Land; the Jaycees of Naperville are proud to help the U.S. Army in any way to promote education and leadership to the adults and children of the City of Naperville.
