Des Plaines 'Food Fight' collects 5,130 pounds for pantry

The Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce's 14th annual "Food Fight" brought in a total of 5,130 pounds of food for the Self-Help Pantry.

The Kiwanis Club of Des Plaines won the challenge with 2,076 pounds of collected food. The additional groups participating included: Des Plaines Camera Club (537 pounds); Rotary Club of Des Plaines (515 pounds); Mill Run Condominiums (479 pounds); Des Plaines Chamber of Com-merce (419 pounds); Des Plaines Library Board & Friends of the Library (221 pounds); The Diplomat of Des Plaines (142 pounds); Des Plaines Garden Club (184 pounds); Nimlok Intl. (117 pounds); A Mother's Touch Learning Academy (108 pounds); Abbott Molecular (101 pounds); MBD Martial Arts (93 pounds); Bethesda Worship Center (90 pounds) and 1350 Touhy Plaza (55 pounds).
